Devastation

Debbieโ€™s theme for One Word Sunday this week is โ€˜Devastationโ€™, and for some reason, I always think in black and white for this kind of word. I have an odd mind at times!

The photo I have chosen is of the Flower Patch from last year, where all of those lovely little Seedlings grew. It looks like this nowโ€ฆ

And hereโ€™s a photo of how things used to beโ€ฆ

Visit Debbieโ€™s site for more interpretations of the theme.

Nature at work. Time for the bulbs to rest and recuperate for the next season’s growth.

Black and white is pretty fitting. In times of trouble the color goes out of our life …for a moment anyway. Then the color comes rushing in and like the flower things turn pretty again.

So true, Beverly. And we need those black and white moments to appreciate the colour!

I don’t know what makes me think in black and white with words such as this, Jackie…

Oh no…is it because of winter? And well, black & white does tend to lend the starkness of devastation..if I’ve used the word starkness right..hehe. The flower is so pretty…but you know, with devastation comes a form of re-birth ๐Ÿ™‚

      That it does, Shree!
And no, it was just time. The flowers will be back in a few day’s time. I’m thinking wishfully here! ๐Ÿ˜€

We all must die to be reborn….The flowers will return. They were the ones I liked so much. Patience TL….Spring demands it! VK ๐Ÿ™‚

Indeed, VK. I must be more patient. I always say that to myself – yet I never listen!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

How odd….I posted my comment and it disappeared! What? I had said “we all have to die to be reborn. The flowers will return and probably in a bigger patch as well…Have patience TL. Spring demands it from us!”! VK ๐Ÿ™‚ Okay, I’m pushing post comment and we’ll see what happens this time.

Mystery solved, VK. And may I apologise for both of your comments being flung so unceremoniously into my spam folder. I clicked ‘Not Spam’ with vigour to retrieve them.

Black and white definitely enhances the dramatic effect of the word.
