Cliché

Debbie’s one-word photo prompt this week is ‘Cliché’, so I present an image inspired by a phrase that could be considered cliché by some. Can you see what it is just from the photo? I’ll reveal the answer at the bottom of the post… how cliché!

About the image:

Close-up photo of the Lawn out in the Grinds taken using a Galaxy Note 4 mobile phone, April 2017, and representing the old phrase ‘the grass is always greener on the other side’. But is it? And which side is greener?

Erma always said ..”The grass is always greener over the septic tank”. She even wrote a book by that title.

No septic tanks around here that I know of, Beverly…

Hmm… in the photos, the grass looks greener in the shade IMO. But just wait until the shadow shifts… or simply put on green (or yellow, if that’s your preference) filter…

I thought that, CM… and then thought the other way around. And it’s all the same green, really. If we can’t believe our eyes, what can we believe?

At first I thought it was ‘ Light vs Dark ‘ but yes, you are so right with that cliché. An ever present question much like “Which came 1st? The chicken or the egg?” If we human beings could wake up enough we would see things are fine just as we are, wherever we are…We spend far too much time trying to make things better rather than accepting what is and enjoying that. Crazy. Oh to be human…..VK 🙂

      Very true, VK.
I actually thought once I’d posted this it was more light versus dark, but went with it anyway!

Good one, Tom. Before we decide to test the so called “greener side”, we should take care of where we are at the present moment. You reap what you sow.

      Exactly, Eugenia!
We should be happy with where we are and with what we have.

A very cliche phrase, but i still didn’t get it. I was thinking along the lines of “turning a new leaf”

I don’t think this is one of my better entries, Debbie… not as clear as it could have been, I suppose – you had me stumped here! 😀
