Ghost Town

The streets are silent
The lights are out
The place is abandoned
No shadow of a doubt
Gone are the squabbles
The laughter and the joy
Replaced by just echoes
And the odd rumbling noise
The land, it is sinking
Deep beneath the waves
Although now it is standing
It will be gone within days
A once vibrant city
Full of energy and life
Becomes but a memory
In its own afterlife

Thank you, Balroop! I like having fun with words, so try to put them together in some kind of sensible (to me!) order! What I write about may make no sense whatsoever, but it’s the writing something different that I enjoy.

Oh my! Hope that isn’t the mansion in the picture fixing to sink in a few days?!! Have your boat handy TL and grab your scuba gear….VK 🙂

No, VK, the Mansion’s quite solid, I’m pleased to say. It’s doing something to time, but it’s solid all the same! 😉

This poem is very apropo for what we are experiencing right at this moment in my little world of paradise. A severe tropical storm is dropping deluges of rain. Flooding is expected. Hope my internet keeps going.
Glad I was able to pop in before the lights go out. Have a peaceful Monday evening.

Hope you’ve had a good week, Isadora, and you are receiving this reply OK… I read earlier today about Hurricane Hermine – hope it hasn’t affected you. Keep well!

Lots of flooding in nearby areas. I, now, have a lake in front of my home. The lake in the back of my home is a river. LOL
The sun will come out and dry it all up in no time. 😎

This is happening around our shores as land is wiped away and homes with it.

Nothing is as powerful as the sea… 😦

    God Bless oh wordsmith! 🙂

      Thank you, kind sire!
It certainly likes to throw it’s strength every now and then, doesn’t it, Prenin?
