Queen of Hearts

#WorldWatercolorMonth Day Thirteen

I had grand ideas with this watercolour. I wanted to make the subject look medieval but with a modern face, and I also wanted to make it look a little more like a watercolour rather than something that has been attacked by gaudy marker pens (it is watercolour, by the way – if you look closely there are parts where the paint isn’t dry yet.)

And then time got involved. All great plans went out of the window and I ended up rushing. Hence the unfinished look and wet paint.

Although I have seen medieval images that could be described as unfinished… so I’ll go with that!

An artist is never finished with his work of art. On many occasions, I arrived at art shows trying to finish many minute things. The main thing is to keep on going. 😎

Thanks, Isadora. There’s a fine line between not doing enough and doing too much… I haven’t found that line yet, so I’m a little all over the place, but with time, I’ll get there! It’s all fun, though.

      Thanks, Prenin.
Patience is needed in bucketloads at the moment here… until it arrives, I shall continue deep breathing! 😀

They usually do, Sylvia, the Queens of Hearts. I don’t know why that is…

Just down both sleeves, Becky, there are a couple of wet patches. Other than those, it looks dry… 🙂
