The Superhero Diaries 3.9: Family Portrait

The Elite Force of Britain: a group of superheroes who joined together to solve one town’s problems, and decided to stick together for the greater good. The team have always wanted a group photograph of themselves that they could use in marketing and PR exercises should the need ever arise. As rarely it ever does, they’ve only managed to get one group shot… and not of the whole team. This photograph was included with a letter sent to the EFB:

Dear Elite Force of Britain,

I’ve recently returned from holiday, and thought I’d send the attached photo to you. Obviously, it belongs to you, and not me, and it must have got mixed up with mine when the photos were being developed in the PhotoLab.

I say it doesn’t belong to me, as all of the other photos are of my whale-sighting cruise just off the coast of Iceland, where I had a fabulous time and caught sight of a couple of whales, and there wasn’t a single superhero in sight… or needed. It was a very peaceful holiday – a great getaway!

Even if you were there, I doubt you’d have taken the time to pose for the camera as you’d have probably been busy doing other things. And, if you had taken the time to pose for a photo, I have a sneaky feeling I’d have remembered taking it. Unless, of course, one of you (or a supervillain who happened to be passing) zapped me and caused me to forget meeting you – although I doubt that it would have been you, because if it were, why pose for the photo in the first place? And from what I’ve read, the Crimson Songbird, the Firetop, Invisible Charlie, Lycralad nor Muriel Magnificent possess the ability to bring about forgetfulness. Mind you, Muriel’s magical pin may – no, it couldn’t have been you.

The background looks familiar, although I can’t quite place it now. It reminds me of an Icelandic sunset, but I don’t recall being there in the evening, although I must have been as I was there for two days, before heading to northern Norway on the Wednesday.

No, it was a mix up by the developers in the PhotoLab. That’s the only logical explanation.

Kind Regards,

E T Smith, holidaymaker.

Something that is less likely to happen in these days of digital technology… 🙂

I think the time is right now for the team to be revealed, Sue… there have been brief appearances of some of them in the past, but it’s always good to put a face to a name… even a superhero’s face at that!
This memory thing could branch off into another story arc… you never know with the world of superheroes where you’ll end up.
