I Think I’m a Vampire…

If I were a vampire, I think I’d be a very good one.

I’ve already listed the reasons why I like vampires, but now I’m looking into how things would be if I were a vampire. After all, we can be anything we really want to in our lives, we just have to put a little effort into it. Where we don’t need to put a lot of anything into becoming what we truly desire to be is in our imaginations. There we can be whoever we please – and whenever we please it!

So. I’m now a vampire.

I am a special vampire that isn’t allergic to daylight, but I still prefer the later hours. That actually sounds like the human me anyway, so that isn’t such a far leap for my imagination.

I am quite moody… sultry in fact. That sounds like me too… I’m not doing very good with this imagination thing right now. I’ll keep trying.

I wear absolutely amazing clothes, and my body is stunning. Athletic and toned, and, for a vampire, quite bronzed and tanned. My hair looks perfect no matter what I do with it, and I can move like lightning. There we go… I knew I had a good imagination in me somewhere!

I like being by myself, but I do also like being around others. I enjoy flirting and being on the edge, but am very careful not to go over the edge. I say things to cause mild offence, but not to outright offend. I sometimes listen to other people, but tend to do mostly my own thing. I need to have a mirror to look in, not that I’m vain, but just to see how good I do look. I’ve met myself coming backwards now… I’m imagining that I’m a vampire imagining that I have a mirror that I can see myself in, which I can as me, but not as the vampire… anyway, moving on…

I live in a huge mansion with many rooms, and the rooms are on many different levels. I like living in the upper part of the house, but I am also particularly fond of an old room downstairs that has been decorated in a really old fashioned way. There is an old clock in this room that ticks loudl – hang on a minute! – this is one of my other dreams that I’ve had. I wasn’t a vampire in that dream – but I don’t remember any mirrors. Hmmm. I digress. Back to being a vampire.

I pretend to drink blood, but it is really cranberry juice. It just looks good! Whenever I have my photograph taken, I hold my hands like claws around my face to make me look more vampiric, but I didn’t do that on my passport photo, and I love Halloween.

I can’t fly on my own accord, but have been able to levitate for several seconds at a time which has been noticed by other people. This has actually happened to me in real life too when I played football once – I spent more time flying through the air than I did actually standing up because I kept tripping over the opponents. (I’m sure the few who went to watch thought I was flying.) I’m a better vampire than I am a football player.

When I’ve had too much of a β€˜certain kind’ of cranberry juice and slept it off a while, I don’t like bright lights then. My head sometimes feels a bit strange, and I occasionally have a little memory loss. Luckily, that doesn’t happen very often.

I like a nice steak every now and then (had to get that one in… being a vampire I have a great sense of humour- I’ve lost count of the number of times my jokes have been lost on people!), and I love to eat out. I can be a bit of a messy eater, but the people I’m with don’t tend to mind. They haven’t said anything to me anyway!

But most of all, I love to have fun. I can’t be doing with being boring, sitting behind a desk all day looking at a computer screen.

I’m back to being me now – the human me, not the vampire. There isn’t really that much difference in the end, only I like the confidence that comes with being the vampire. I may just borrow that aspect of my vampire personality. In fact, I think I’ll imagine me as something else, and see which aspect of that personality I like, and borrow that too. Bit by bit I’ll improve my own personality, which can’t be bad. I think I’ll try being a werewolf next…

Did you know that Dracula could go out in daylight? Yes, Bram Stoker never has him be a nocturnal creature, however, he makes it clear that Dracula’s powers are diminished in daylight. So there, you can be a vamp and be out in daylight. Blade, the daywalker, is also able to go out in daylight, but we know he is not all vampire.

I am personally very vampiric, and not by choice, but by genetics, I have larger than normal pupils that allow me to see much better at night than others, and make me quite sensitive to bright light. I have a tendency of becoming anaemic, when I do not have my dose or red meat (and no, other forms of iron do not seem to work, strangely…they upset my stomach) and I have tiny little sharp fangs, they’re just naturally like that, and I once had a dentist offer to file them down for me, to give me a ‘softer’ look. I was very offended, and said no thanks. Now, if you met me, you would not really notice them, they’re not Dracula teeth lol. Lastly, I am quite pale and get sun stroke if out in the sun for too long.

As you can see, I’m back online now πŸ™‚

Hi Alannah, nice to see you back! πŸ˜€
I had one of my ‘fangs’ filed down by the dentist once – it was about three times as long as the other one so it needed doing (!), but it is broken now and I think that was partly because of the filing… it’s probably a good thing that you didn’t take up the dentist’s offer. Cheek!
I had read somewhere about the vampires and daylight but wasn’t sure whether it was ‘real’ or I’d made it up.

The legends don’t really mention them being nocturnal, not quite sure where that came from other than the idea they are ‘creatures of the night’ or ‘undead’ then again, if they were a real species, they sure could be nocturnal as many animals are, for they hunt their prey when they cannot be seen etc, so it kind of makes sense that vampires would be nocturnal, but you know, if Dracula can go out in daylight, so can you πŸ™‚

What a good idea, Tom: borrow the great qualities of a vampire.

I think Sesame Street’s Count is a great place to start….

Vampires get a wonderful press these days: such gorgeous louche parts they are accorded, all smouldering and hairstyles to die for…it is as well to remember the older descriptions too, Stoker’s talk of tall old men with pointed ears and hairy palms, with rank breath which caused nausea…it’s very Nosfiratu….but the Frances Ford Cuppola Dracula is a far more romantic notion. I will never forget the moment he tells Mina: “I have crossed oceans of time to be with you.” Only a hop, skip and a jump from there to Twilight….

We – er – they do, don’t they Kate?
I’d be happy to settle for the smouldering hairstyle! The count always had great hair! πŸ˜€

I’m neither vampire nor werewolf; I’m some kind of big cat, probably a black panther. I’ll resist the obvious “cougar” joke. (I’m not sure if that’s North American slang; just in case you don’t use it over there, we refer to a middle-aged woman who seeks out relationships with much younger men as a ‘cougar’).

I’m sure about the feline thing because whenever I’m in a dream where I have to run, I drop to all fours. The sensation of long, elastic muscles and wind rushing through fur is very vivid, and I run fast and silently, always in the darkness. I love those dreams! πŸ™‚

Some people are described as Cougars over here too, Diane, apparently – but I don’t know any.
Your feline dreams sound fascinating – I wonder if they’ll be anything like my flying dreams? I can imagine by the way you describe them to be very vivid…

Vampires, for me, conjure relationships that suck the life out of me. I guess that’s why I have avoided the recent fascination with them. I always go back to the images – and the faces – of those people who drive me bonkers.

I’ve always been fascinated by vampires, Andra. I’d never heard of the phrase Psychic Vampire until quite recently, in the context of someone who literally drains one’s energy when they are around. I know a few people like this, and yes, they drive me bonkers too! I’ll have to start using my own Psychic Garlic when they’re around!!!

Yes another Vampire, welcome to the dark side Sir Aquatom
and as for thinking of being the Werewolf next, just be careful
whom you dine on as that could be rather embarrassing come
the morning hours… Actually the same could be said for your
Vampire adventuring too so watch out for that scenario on both
of these, of course if you were a Zombie with attitude then you
could eat brains and chew fingers all night long, as Zombies
consume huge amounts of blood and gore of an evening, even
eat their fill through the day time also but you are the Vampire,
and soon to be the Werewolf so plenty of time to explore πŸ™‚ lol

Have a Fangtastic rest of evening
Sir Vamp of Aquatom Mansion πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
